Review of SENuke 7 day trial.

I've downloaded hundreds of software packages, and like you, I've been disappointed by most. SeNuke was different -- way different. Not only was it easy to use, but it did AMAZING things, saving me literally hundreds of hours a month doing what I had been doing manually to increase my search engine rank.

Unlike other similar software that promised 'instant results on Google' and other ridiculous claims, SeNuke didn't use blackhat techniques to just post a million links that will be instantly deleted and eventually get you kicked off the search engines ... it actually helped you produce QUALITY links, just 100x faster than you could do it before.

Look And Feel

Contrary to what a lot of creative people would like, nice, boring page layouts are usually the best! Easy to read with lots of white space (so the reader is focused on the content, not the fluff) is the key to keep people on the site and keep them coming back. Over use of color, images, Flash and Java scripts make a site look neat, but often make it harder for the user to navigate.

This doesn't mean your site can't be pretty and fun, it just means that simple is usually better.

Make Your Site Easy to Use

It should be easy for a user to find his or her way around your site. Links to all the main pages, and major directories should be on every page. No "dead-ends" where the user is forced to hit the back button or worse, re-type the URL. Think about your favorite sites -- they probably keep you there by showing you links to other interesting items related to what you're reading about. One topic leads to another, and it flows naturally.

Make it FAST

A slow loading page is like death to a business. Customers will lose patience quickly. Add to that Google is now factoring in page speed into it's algorithm and your site might never be found at all.

To make a site faster -- avoid excessive graphics, scripts and Flash, all of which greatly increase the file size of the page. Screen your HTML for errors, unwanted tags, scripts or bad links. Software like Dreamweaver have tools for this. When possible, use Server Side Includes (SSI) -- these are files called once and cached instead of reloading on every page.

Make it Multi-Browser Compatible

Not everybody uses Internet Explorer any more. Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari and Netscape Navigator constitute a large percentage of web users, and the code should work on all of them. This is another reason to keep it simple.

Use CSS

CSS is a relatively newer addition to the web world, but it is quickly becoming the standard for web site design. The reasons for this are numerous -- changes can be made globally on an entire site vs one page at a time, consistency, and reduction of file size just to name a few.

Scaleability

Web Sites should be dynamic, and work for any resolution, on any size screen.

Don't be annoying

You might think that those flashing and blinking gifs and animations are cute, and you might LOVE that song, but others won't. Some might love it, but MOST web users don't want to see that stuff, and certainly don't want to listen to your music. If you want to add music or sounds, give them the option to turn it on, don't force it on them.

More annoying than those are popup windows. Users HATE these almost without exception, and bombarding them with popups is a sure way to get them to leave and not return.

Readability

Your text should be in contrast to the background in an easy-to-read font, at a reasonable size.
